Abstract:

The Crimean geodynamic site Simeiz — Katzively is one of the unique sites in the world where several stations of space geodesy observations are located: RT-22 radio telescope (CRIMEA, CDP number 7332), satellite laser ranging (SLR) stations 1873 Simeiz and 1893 Katzively, permanent GNSS stations CRAO and KTVL, marker of mobile SLR station 7561 Simeiz. Four local survey geodetic campaigns and five GNSS campaigns were performed to determine local ties between space geodesy stations and basic markers on this site. As the results of campaigns the coordinates of points (space geodesy stations and markers) in the Crimean geodynamic site Simeiz — Katzively in the ITRF2000 reference frame at the epoch 2004.6 were estimated. Local ties between basic site points were determined as differnces between positions of the corresponding points and position of the RT-22 radio telescope. Deviations from the average values of local ties at the sites of the RT-22 radio telescope and the SLR station of CrAO vary within the limits of up to 3.6 mm and 6.4 mm, respectively, and are actually within the limits of the local ties determination errors. The wide range of local ties variations for the mobile SLR station (7561) is due to physical damage of this marker and excavation works around it between observation campaigns. The local ties for points at the site of the SLR station of CLO MAO NASU change in a very wide range due to local movement in a southerly direction with significant velocity. The coordinates of the space geodesy stations in the Crimean geodynamic site Simeiz — Katzively are available in the ITRF2020 catalogue, so it was possible to compare the local ties calculated from its data with the ones obtained from the geodetic campaigns data processing. The differences between two types of local ties are very large (up to 45 mm). Reasons for these discrepancies could be both namely due to errors in survey geodetic local ties and in the ITRF2020 estimates of space geodesy coordinates for the Crimean geodynamic site Simeiz — Katzively. The behavior of the distance differences between the 1893 Katzively SLR station and the RT-22 radio telescope (1893 — 7332) exhibits peculiar character. It is due to same values of the velocities for all SLR stations in the Crimean geodynamic site Simeiz — Katzively in the ITRF2020 catalogue. So the fact that the area around the 1893 Katzively station has significant local movements is not taken into account. Considering these significant local area movements, for future ITRS realizations the velocities for the SLR stations in the Crimean geodynamic site Simeiz — Katzively should be estimated separately for each station, as was done, for example, for the permanent GNSS stations CRAO and KTVL.
