We estimated the parameters Ω_m and σ₈ using the data on peculiar velocities of 1493 flat edge-on spirals from the RFGC catalogue. The values obtained, Ω_m = 0.21^+0.22_-0.09, σ₈ = 1.07^+0.28_-0.24, differ from the WMAP values approximately by Зσ. Due to strong correlation between the quantities, the shape of the 1σ, 2σ and Зσ-boundaries are rather thin. This allows us to use our estimate for verifications of the corresponding values obtained by different methods.
