Аннотация: The ionosphere is the main natural channel for the propagation of radio waves with wavelengths from millimeters to tens of thousands of kilometers. The study of regular and irregular processes in the ionosphere is an urgent scientific task. Currently, there are no empirical models of wave disturbances (WDs) that describe diurnal-seasonal and slower variations of their parameters on a global scale. Constructing such models requires consistent and continuous observations in all regions of the globe. While such observations are impossible, researchers limit themselves to measurements for characteristic geophysical periods. These include the spring and autumn equinoxes, summer and winter solstices. This is exactly what the authors of the paper did. The purpose of this study is to describe the results of the analysis of diurnal-seasonal variations in electron density and its WDs in the F2 layer of the ionosphere for the 24th solar activity cycle period. A custom-made digital ionosonde developed at the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was used to monitor the state of the ionosphere. After constructing time series for critical frequencies, the trend and the difference between the original series and the trend were calculated. The electron density and its increment were determined by the critical frequency of the ordinary component of the reflected signal. In all seasons, a predominant oscillation with a period of 140...250 min, an amplitude of (3.8...11.4) 1010 m-3, and a relative amplitude of 0.09...0.23 appeared in the F2 layer of the ionosphere. The duration of this oscillation, depending on the season, reached 12 hours. The amplitude of oscillations with other periods was noticeably smaller. As a result of a comparative analysis of diurnal-seasonal variations in electron density in the F2 layer of the ionosphere and its quasi-periodic disturbances, quantitative parameters of these variations were established. |
